Vivo has announced the Vivo Y600 Pro smartphone in China, pushing the Y-series into a space most midrange phones haven’t reached yet. The headline feature is a 10,200mAh battery, a sharp jump from the 5,500mAh cell on the Y400 Pro that launched in India last June and the 7,000mAh Y500 Pro that followed but didn’t come to India. In two generations, Vivo has nearly doubled battery capacity in this lineup without turning the phone into a bulky outlier.

The Dimensity 7300e is tuned more for efficiency than peak GPU output, and the camera setup is quite straightforward. The battery uses fourth-generation silicon-carbon tech with 15 percent silicon content and an energy density of 886Wh/L. That allows Vivo to fit a much larger cell while keeping the thickness at 8.25 mm, just 0.4 mm more than the previous model. Vivo claims over 24 hours of usage, including up to 47 hours of calls and 28 hours of video playback. It also says the battery can retain 80 percent health after six years or around 1,600 charge cycles. Most brands make longevity claims at 500 or 800 cycles.

China pricing and availability
The Y600 Pro starts at CNY 1,999 (around Rs 28,000) for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 12GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 2,899 (around Rs 40,200). It is currently available to order in China, with deliveries scheduled from April 30th.
India launch status
There is no confirmation yet on an India launch. The Y400 Pro arrived in India in June last year at Rs 24,999, so a similar mid-year window is possible if Vivo follows its usual cycle. Pricing would likely sit in the same broad range, adjusted for the larger battery and newer chipset.
The Y600 Pro enters a segment where most phones sit in the 6,000mAh range, with a few moving toward 7,000mAh. Closer competition will come from devices like the Realme P4 Power and Narzo Power, which pack 10,001mAh cells. At the same time, reports suggest Redmi is working on multiple smartphones with 10,000mAh batteries across segments. Vivo seems to be trying to build early headroom before similar capacities become more common.
In practical terms, the Y600 Pro is aimed at users who prioritise battery life above everything else. If you want a phone that can comfortably stretch beyond a full day, this stands out. If gaming performance, camera versatility, or a slimmer design matter more, there are more balanced options available in the same price range.
