Moto G64 First Impressions: No major upgrades

Motorola has introduced a new addition to its big G series of phones, the Moto G64 5G. This latest budget smartphone offers significant features at an affordable price point. The Moto G series has been a successful lineup for the company over the years. The new Moto G64 brings some innovative features, following the trend set by the recently launched Moto Edge 50 Pro.

Replacing last year's Moto G54, the Moto G64 5G comes with updated hardware. The initial impressions of the phone after using it for a few days reveal similarities in design to its predecessor, the Moto G54 5G. The phone features a familiar rectangular rear camera module with dual sensors and an LED flash, a glossy acrylic glass rear panel, and a thick plastic frame. Despite these similarities, the new model maintains a similar thickness to the previous version due to the inclusion of a large battery. Visually, it may seem like not much has changed from the outside.

The phone has a 6.5-inch screen with good resolution and the ability to refresh the screen up to 120 times per second. This is similar to another phone, the Moto G54. What's different is that the screen is now protected by Gorilla Glass, a tough type of glass made by Corning. The phone has a small hole in the screen for the front camera and has thick edges around the screen just like the previous model. The buttons on the phone are in the same place as before. Overall, the changes on the outside of the phone are minimal, with the main addition being the Gorilla Glass protection for the screen.

The phone is available in three colour options, and we're testing out the Mint Green variant. The Moto G64 5G is also available in Pearl Blue and Ice Lilac colours. This time around, there's no Black colour variant of the phone. The Moto G54 5G is also available in Pearl Blue and Mint Green colours, and they look exactly the same as the new phone.
